Green light for partnership between LG Electronics and Monza Circuit

At the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO SANTANDER D'ITALIA 2009 (Monza) the Italian market hosted a comprehensive consumer and media activation and at track hospitality programme.

LG Electronics official supplier of Monza Circuit with the new LCD TVs
San Donato Milanese, 11 September 2009 – LG Electronics, “A Global Partner of Formula 1™” and “A Technology Partner of Formula 1™”, announces today a partnership with Autodromo Nazionale di Monza as an official supplier, thanks to a 3 year product exclusivity agreement.

With this partnership with a famous Italian motor racing circuit, LG Electronics Italy is committed in supplying all LCD TVs positioned into the indoor area of the Monza Circuit. In detail 60 screens 37”, 10 pieces 42”, 250 screens 21” and 10 pieces 42” will be installed with the LG Electronics logo displayed on each.

“The partnership with Monza Circuit is very important for LG Electronics, who can strengthen furthermore the link between the LG brand and motor sport, affirms Andrea Sabatino, Corporate Marketing Manager of LG Electronics Italia. On a marketing level there are a lot of initiatives dedicated to the promotion of this important partnership. Thanks to the Global Partner agreement signed last November with Formula One Management (FOM)™, the company associated its brand with the racing world as “Official Data Processor of Formula 1™”, and had its logo broadcast live with graphs and data during every round of the FIA Formula One World Championship around the world The new agreement with Monza Circuit will allow the company to take part in all communication activities of the Monza Circuit.

“The choice of replacing all CRT screens with LCD models, with a lower energy consumption, underscores also a really important topic for LG Electronics: Green Technology”, claims Andrea Sabatino. Starting from last year, LG’s commitment in environment protection has become real through the promotion of different eco-sustainable activities. Above all, this topic was the core of research and development to implement new technologies and cutting edge and energy saving products.
